While sitting on the edge of her
bed, head in one hand and a foreclosure notice in the other, Cheryl felt the
weight of all the mounting evidence proving she was hopelessly failing as a
mother, a wife, and a believer. It was in that moment of hopelessness that Cheryl
finally told the truth—not because she wanted to…but because she was too mentally
and spiritually exhausted to do anything else.
ABOUT THE BOOK: A MORE
COURAGEOUS BELIEVER
The title of Cheryl Abram's first book, Firing God, suggests the controversial nature of its contents and its challenging, though liberating, message. Cheryl came to realize the "life is suffering" premise is not necessary. In a simple, authentic, and straightforward manner, the author describes her personal journey from the truth of "inescapable suffering" to freedom from “obligation to suffer”. The transition occurred when she finally told the truth, which consisted of identifying who and what God was in her life, then challenging the beliefs that had placed her life and decisions on autopilot. Cheryl shares the idea that freedom from obligation to suffer is one doorway to an authentic, deeply meaningful, and eternally present life — whether a Christian, Buddhist, Jew, or atheist. Firing God is available to the public in paperback and eBook formats from Amazon.com and Newharbinger.com.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
“Affliction has a way of enabling a person to embrace religion or turn away from it altogether. Few however take the “leap of doubt” that…led her to become ok with her search for truth…” Dr. Lorenzo T. Neal, Ordained Minister
"Cheryl Abram's
first book, Firing God, is the only book she'll need to write. If you're
searching for missing pieces of your wholeness, struggling with unworthiness,
seeking answers, or hoping to escape your present situation: read this
book." Robert
Rabbin, author of Radical Wisdom
"Firing God is a
story of transcending spiritual consumerism and finding the church within ..."
